English around the World

This chapter of the History of English focuses on English spoken around the world and its variations that include Hinglish, Chinglish and Singlish.

After foreign settlers go it started, English has had an uncanny knack to absorb, evolve, invade and even steal from other languages. Despite a written alphabet that has little resemblance to how it sounds and a confusing spelling system, it is spoken by around one and a half billion people around the world.
