Sarcasm Taking Over
Check out this funny video from satirical news organization The Onion. It would appear that sarcasm is taking over, with a recent study suggesting that as much as 70 percent of all praise is actually sarcastic rather than genuine.
Common praise such as “good job” and “smooth move” is now being used to make fun of people rather than praise them when they need it most. Even longer phrases such as “so glad you could join us” are only being used genuinely around half the time.
